'The two-day training “Terminology and Artificial Intelligence” introduces participants to Artificial Intelligence in the construction of terminologies compliant with international standards such as ISO 1087 and ISO 704. The training illustrates how Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI, including Large Language Models (LLMs), can assist in corpus processing, such as term candidate extraction, and how symbolic AI, such as ontologies, supports the representation of the conceptual systems of terminologies.'

'Thirty meetups! It feels surreal to think back to the very first Belgium NLP Meetup in 2016, when our opening talk posed the question: is there a market for NLP? Safe to say, almost ten years later we have our answer.

Our thirtieth event will take place on Thursday June 4th in the offices of Ravical in Ghent, an AI company that discovers revenue opportunities in documents and helps full-service firms act on them.

As usual, doors open at 7pm for pizza, talks are planned between 7.30pm and 9pm, and after that there's more time for networking and drinks.'

StyGenAI is dedicated specifically to the study of style in GenAI-translated content. Hosted at EAMT 2026, the workshop provides a focused forum for examining how large language models shape translated texts, how their outputs differ from both human translation and traditional MT, and how stylistic patterns emerge, stabilise, or drift across genres, languages, and prompting strategies.

While recent advances in Generative AI have significantly improved fluency and surface quality in translation, questions of style remain under-theorised and under-evaluated. StyGenAI addresses this gap by bringing together researchers and practitioners working on AI translation stylistics, evaluation methodologies, and impact of style on translators' practice as a result of human – AI interaction.

'Legal Linguistics has emerged in the Canadian tradition under the label jurilinguistique to address the difficulties of joint drafting and legal communication within a nation with two different legal languages, systems, and traditions.
Since then, the study of legal language has developed into distinct subdisciplines in various academic traditions such as the Anglophone and European Legal Linguistics, the Germanist Rechtslinguistik, and the Russian yurislingvistika.
These new interdisciplinary domains are often regarded as independent research areas, yet at the same time as special branches of LSP Research, and insulated from other more universal and non-abstract subject matters.'

'Situated within the broader field of language and law, Legal Linguistics now stands alongside more recent disciplines such as Forensic Linguistics and Language Rights and even appears in applied forms like Legal Translation Studies (LTS), juritraductologie, or Rechtstranslatologie, considering that the translation of legal texts is equally treated as a special case of translation studies.'


The aim of the workshop is to provide a forum for discussing innovative approaches, creating synergies and further developing the strengths of Legal Linguistics for the benefit of human beings and democratic societies.

'Computational modelling has long been a highly influential research method in the study of human language processing. In the last decade or so, the impact of computational simulations has further increased with the availability of models with human-scale knowledge of language statistics and the development of powerful linking functions (based on, for instance, information theory and distributional semantics) between model predictions and human processing, as well as the availability of large-scale, high resolution behavioural and neurophysiological language processing data sets.

However, relatively little attention seems to be paid to simulations of bi- and multilingual processing. For example, large language models are, typically, massively multilingual yet they are rarely connected back to theories and data of human multilingualism. In this way, they are unlike traditional models of bilingualism that increase our understanding of the unique properties of comprehending, producing, or learning a non-native language, of acquiring two or more languages simultaneously, and of the interaction between multiple languages in one mind.

This workshop aims to bridge the gap between the scientific disciplines of multilingual language research, experimental psycholinguistics, and computational cognitive science. By exploring how empirical, human-oriented approaches can be more tightly integrated with the theoretical, computation-oriented methodologies, the workshop will further enhance research into the cognitive science of bi-/multilingualism.'

Als vertaler zijn we in feite specialisten in meertalige en interculturele communicatie, wat ons de kans biedt om bedrijven en particulieren te begeleiden in uiteenlopende behoeften. Op die manier is diversificatie niet alleen een goede manier om een voet tussen de deur te krijgen bij bedrijven, maar ook een uitstekende kans om minder afhankelijk te worden van één type activiteit.'

Producing terminology resources requires a wide range of research and development skills. The design and implementation phases involve a thorough preliminary analysis of the information needs of potential users, as well as an accurate assessment of the structural requirements of the resource.

In this context, MDTT 2026, the fifth international conference Multilingual Digital Terminology Today: Design, Representation Formats and Management Systems brings together specialists in terminology, terminography, computational terminology, specialized lexicography, computational linguistics, and NLP.

The goal is to share methodological perspectives on design approaches, representation formats, and management systems for digital terminology as represented in terminology resources.
