Ghent (Belgium), Giorgio Vassallo - How do you deal with learning difficulties such as developmental dyslexia that may impede foreign language learning? What are other factors within the learner that may influence the effectiveness of the learning process?

The 5th International Topics in Applied Linguistics (TAL) conference will be held on 16-17 November 2015 in Opole, Poland. This edition will deal with learning problems as well as methods that can influence effectiveness in foreign language learning.

The event is being organised by the Department of Applied Linguistics at Opole University. The conference will have the participation of experts like Dina Tsagari (University of Cyprus) and Mirosław Pawlak (Konin and Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań) to share their insights.

The conference is currently inviting experts from a wide range of language learning related fields to submit their contributions. If you are an expert in language learning, translation, lexicography, bilingualism, language policy or a specialist in any other language learning related field, your contributions are welcome.

The event will also host a series of workshops to help teachers deal with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia. Other workshops will include the opportunity for PhD students to receive feedback on their ongoing projects from experts in their field.

Submissions for proposals are still being accepted, with a deadline of 30 September 2015.

The previous editions’ programmes are available on the university’s website. More information in the link below.
